The vision of my art is constantly changing but always seems to produces an inner smile. My happy place. My medium is oil but I am beginning to appreciate pastels and charcoal and simple pencil drawing. The expressive human form intrigues me as well as the subtleties and light of a landscape. What’s next on the canvas… you never know what will flow…
I am a New Yorker, having gone to The High School of Music and Art and then the Fashion Institute of Technology majoring in textile and product design. After working for many years as a textile designer for the home furnishing industry , then became the display director for various home furnishing companies: Boris Kroll and Design Tex…. I returned to FIT to teach screen printing and then became part of the FIT Gallery display and installation staff for over 10 years. After joining my husband, John Storyk, to form WSDG, Walters Storyk Design Group, turning it into a global architectural acoustic design firm that that was consuming for over 30 years as I was the director of technical interior design. I have now come full circle back to my fine art: A member of ASK, The Woodstock School of Art and many many wonderful studio retreats in Tuscany with Julian Hyzler from EASEL&LENS .
